Renaissance Man

(In Training)

A thought regarding our present times:

A Native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said,
"I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one."
The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?"
The grandfather answered, "The one I feed."
  • I am now a 69 year old kid (sigh, it seemed only yesterday I was 30, or was it the day before?) who liked to go to Grateful Dead shows (now tribute bands like Cubensis).
  • Originally out of LonGisland (note it's one word) New York, around fall of '77 I came west for a vacation, that was it. It's some 28 years later and I can't think of a better place to live. Where else can you go water skiing in the morning, drive a couple of hours and go snow skiing that same afternoon. And then another two hours drive and you can camp out in the desert that night, where I like to participate in another of my favorite sports; Wind Skating.
  • After many years in the computer industry, programming, tech support etc, I now work in the Recovery world. At present the time I work at a Drinking Driver Program)

  • A few years ago I had the privilege of visiting Australia where I learned how to play the Didgeridoo or as it is called by the Aboriginal people "Yidaki". This unique sounding instrument dates back over 80 thousand years (give or take a century or two). Click here for a sample. (RealAudio format)
  • If you like "Wearable Art" have a look at my friends Hilton and Vicki's page "HVQ Byrd Metalsmiths" . They make some of the nicest jewelry you will ever see. Plus they are really nice people. If you go to Craft shows back east be sure to look them up. They publish their schedule on their page. Or stop by their store, Designer Craft Gallery , in Stroudsburg outside of the Pocono Mts of Pa.
  • Hilton and I went to C.W.Post College back in the stone ages, that's the early 60's for you younger types. Hilton is probably the reason for at least half of my beliefs and the man that taught me how to 'look' at life and the people around us. Check out his and one of his sons(Kurt) pictures in the "Rogue's Gallery" further down the page.
  • Speaking of Kurt, who went on an around the world trip (and he didn't invite me...), you can check out his Web Site and hear his Toons . For all the latest photos and stuff.(Click on his "photos" link) Or check out some of the photos he sent me.
  • The Rogue's Gallery. Pictures of all those people and things that are near and dear to me.
  • A couple of recent photos (and not so recent) of me can be found here
  • The Pets. Pictures of some of the 4 legged friends I share my life with.
  • For a list of friends, things and sites I found interesting for one reason or another try my links page.
  • Just because it's my favorite plane. the GeeBee!
  • What's shakin' ?
  • Are you a born BUTTON pusher?
  • You can find my RESUME here.
  • Like the Renaissance Man, who is still in training, this page is still under construction. Stop back from time to time and watch us both grow. Thanks for the visit.
  • Don't be a stranger, write and tell me if you liked my home page. Or if there is anything you might think worth adding. If your browser e-mail is not properly configured you can send mail to "webmaster@harges.net".
  • Do you know who TATANKA YOTANKA was or what SEQUOYAH is famous for having invented? If not (and even if you knew the answers) visit Great Native American Leaders & Patriots
  • For some thoughts and American Aboriginal poetry please go to Sacred Wolf Dreams' Spirit World
  • Please visit Running Deer's Longhouse where you will find no end of wonderful American Aboriginal things. Please enjoy and share them with all you know.
